Competitive roots
Growing up, I played competitive field hockey both in the Netherlands and in university in the USA. What I took from it never left: discipline, focus, showing up even on the days it’s hard. My audiences feel that. They feel I don’t half-perform. They feel I go all in.
Storytelling, presence & charisma
Later, I completed film and acting school in Berlin. I wanted to become an actor but I learned way more: how to make a story land, how to hold a room, how to build presence that people actually feel. Every performance I bring now carries that same thing. It’s not just movement, it’s emotion. It lands. It moves. It stays with people.
"I don't half-perform. I go all in."
How skating found me
I started skating on some cheap second-hand skates in 2021. It got me going, a little. But when I treated myself to one of the biggest skate festivals in the world, in Barcelona, something changed. I won a pair of skates in a raffle…and not just any pair. The pair that turned my hobby into something I’d end up pursuing as a career. Skating became my freedom, my creativity, the way I take up space and express myself. I can’t imagine a life without it, and I can’t wait to keep doing it.
Developing my purpose
Somewhere along the way, this stopped being just about skating.
Now, everything I do carries the same purpose: showing that female bodies can do anything they put their minds to. That includes making dreams come true. That includes buildinga life that fuels you, not one you need to escape from.
I believe most people already know what they want, they’re just waiting for permission, or proof it’s possible. So I try to be that proof. Not because I have it all figured out, but because I’m doing it in real time, and I think that’s worth showing.
"What my body can do still surprises people…and sometimes me too."
If that’s something you need reminding of too, that you’re capable of more than you’re currently letting yourself believe, come find me on my Instagram, where I share that journey daily. And if you want the deeper version, the stuff that doesn’t fit in a caption, my podcast A Life I Don’t Need to Escape From is where I talk about the hard, inevitable parts of life — the setbacks, the fear, the stuck moments — and how I’ve worked through them, so you can too.
